Congratulations to Dr. Katrina R Hamilton and co-authors Campbell, Mun, Bergeria, Hun, Speedy, Vandrey and Dunn on their manuscript “Within-subject, double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled evaluation of combining the cannabinoid dronabinol and the opioid hydromorphone in adults with chronic pain“. Their study examine the drug effect, analgesic response, and physical and cognitive functioning following co-administration of oral THC with an opioid in a clinical chronic pain sample. This is one of the first studies to examine the combined effects of opioids with cannabinoids to further our understanding of the utility of cannabinoids in chronic pain treatment.
